Ganban-yoku has ancient origins. Legends say a villager often saw Japanese snow monkeys resting on heated volcanic stones to heal their injuries and relax. Now Winnipeggers can also enjoy the therapeutic benefits of hot stones in a relaxing environment.

Our inspiration for the design came from research of subtle Japanese elements such as stone, organic materials and colors, and natural wood materials and detailing. The space was essentially raw so we needed to be innovative and careful with the client's budget.
